Can the 03s get the exact same development without the 04s playing them? The answer is an obvious yes so you still have not given any good reason for an 03 team to play an 04 team, yet we can give SEVERAL good reasons for them NOT to play.

One good reason is STRICLY to avoid hurting the confidence of older girls who lack the untrainable aspects of natural talent and ahtleticsm that will be better in the top tiers of a younger group playing up against 2nd and 3rd tiers of an older grouop.

In other words the best of the 04s have better natural talent and more ahtlecism on average than the average to good of the 03s but fall short against the best of the 03s who have the top talent and athleicism of that age group. The same applies to the 03s vs. the 02s and so on.

It is the equivalent of a professional middleweight fighter against an amateur heavyweight. Now take that same pro middleweight and put him in the ring with the pro heavyweight and you will quickly see why they have weight classes in the first place.

I said the exact samething a couple of posts ago to go99....they don't understand because they are only worried about their kids/team and not thinking about it from the other teams prerogative.

Actually I just don't believe every coach is that concerned about the age or sex of their opponent. Many good coaches care more about style of play and level of competativeness. And the kids wouldn't even know or care until the parents tell them. I think many 02 teams would get a better benefit from SRSA than some of the 02 teams just because they play a better style of soccer.

Exactly. It's not about the age it's about exposing your team to different styles of play. Some typical NTX soccer responses on this thread, worrying about age and winning!

LOL... You ignore the part I wrote about NATURAL TALENT. Somone with more RAW talent is always going to be better at passing, receiving, and first touch, as well as one on one instincs and breaking down defenders than an older player with less natural talent. RASE girls will also see the field better and have more confidence on the ball and in their teammates. This is the point, that RASE represents the top 5% of 04s and will always have better tools than the top 20-15% of an older group of girls.

Lee is a great coach with top level players. They will always win against GREAT coaches with lesser talent. PERIOD.

Sorry, but I am going to call BS here.

Sure RASE doesn't mind losing to OLDER girls because they are "SUPPOSED" to. I guarantee if RASE lost every game to a league of 04s their parents would NOT be happy.

Winning is not everything but it IS something in COMPETITIVE play.

Oh and tell me how RASE parents would feel consistently losing to 05 teams... Even if those 05 teams were TOP in their age group. You would not like it PERIOD.

I really could care less. Not sure about the other parents though. My bb cmae up thru soccer and was on alot of losing teams. First year in select managed to qualify D1 and then lose every game exept 1. He is now playing up a year in D1. Your wins as a team will not determine who you are as a player. That being said my DD has made it clear she doesn't want to lose any games. She would take shortcuts or even cheat to win and it's something I fight all the time. Ask her and she would probably say bring on the 05's so she can keep winning. I do think you overstate the prowess of RASE with the top 5% stuff. Whe have a nice mix of athletes and talented players but it is our ability to play as a group, keep a shape, and move the ball that keeps us where we are. Practice is a joy to watch and that is coaching. I am sure you coach is fine, but there are more bad coaches here than good. NTX is full of snakeoil salesman and charlatans. With the most comon practice being find a naturally talented, athletic kid and then use them to dominate the game so the team can win. Of course that player doesn't learn how to play in the context of a game.

Right and that's the point. When you combine great coaching with top level talent you will dominate. Like it or not, top level talent has gravitated to RASE and then played to their potential with the great coaching. This is the same with coach Adames at DT South. I don't think there is another academy club/coach dominating in as many age groups as Adames at South. Look at their 02s, 03s, and 05s. All top 4 teams and the 04s are at least top 10 and with the coaching, I think they have a real shot at getting back into top 5 by the fall.

DT South's success is twofold. One they have a great coach with proven success and two, there is not a lot of competition club wise for top level talent in their home areas thus they tend to gravitate to DT South. Great coaching + top level talent = success.

Wasnt LW the developer of the DTS 03 team?

I would actually watch the Texan Doyle team. They have alot of talent on one team. Went thru a rough patch with coaching but the talent is there. Don't know the coach but he has the tools to make a big splash in the 04's.
