Sorry - my bad. I was just reacting to the "box score" breakout in the link above. It showed no scoring in periods 1, 2, OT1, or OT2 -- just 3 for Boyd and 0 for Longview under "total." In my late-night stupor, I just concluded they must have scored 3 p-k's in a shootout. Should've stopped to realize that a 3-0 pk result would not be recorded as a 3-0 win.

GOONER: Looks like everyone listed above (including Rowe) is out with the exception of Reagan and MacArthur who have to meet in next round. I'm still sticking with Reagan to win the region. Do you have a schedule of game dates/times for the next round in Region 4?

The word at Marcus is 7:30 Tuesday.

My understanding is that the original UIL schedule had the game scheduled for 4:30 on Monday and the coaches agreed to have the game moved to Tuesday because the kids had Monday off of school and all of the kids that played in the International Cup would get more rest. Maybe UIL moved the game to Tuesday but left the game at 4:30 not knowing what had been worked out.

Someone told me dribble ups were the plan when we were tied last night for a while...I couldn't believe it. Only in 10U rec soccer and equivalent (read: Middle School soccer) have I seen dribble ups employed. Real soccer doesn't involve dribble ups...how did this ever even enter as a possible solution? What was wrong with universally-accepted PK's? Can't believe this is the way the UIL currently resolves shoot out situations. pale
