He also said this at halftime of the WNT game vs Germany.

Could they be a little more vague?

Agreed - too much of a teaser. However Wambach header was very cool - she physically dominates! The defender had zero chance with her positioning... nice. Go WNT!

Tobin Heath is actually one of the younger players on the team and will likely be around for awhile. I don't disagree about O'Reilly, but I think that the tour they are on is a victory tour to celebrate their Gold medal, so it is unlikely they would bench the players that won the medal in favor of players who weren't on the Olympic team.

Just because Heath is younger doesn't make her worthy of a position.

I actually really like Heath and think with more play time she can and will be a great contributor to the game. I don't think we will see Wambach being benched any time soon. Even though she is one of the older players she is still a big contributor during the game. While I think O'Reilly has speed that on outside mid needs I think she has lost her starting position to Rapinoe. I think our defensive line is where we need to worry about in the foreseeable future. With Christie Rampone only guaranteeing another year to the team that will be a huge hit to the team. Even at 37yrs old she is the back bone of the USWNT defensive line. Those are going to be big shoes to fill.
I much rather see Krieger back in mid field over Lloyd or back on defense over LePeilbet.
So, Who are the 7 coaches that have made the short list?

Re: New Pro Women's League?
It is true about the defense but Johnson and Roccaro looked pretty good at center backs in the U20. This is a large nation with lots of female soccer players. There has to be someone better than Buehler. Watch her. It looks like she is pulling a plow when she runs. You're right about Krieger. I would much rather see her and O'Hara at outside back.
Time to bring in the new blood.

Uncle Numanga wrote:Wambach can head the ball and has a quick shot but really has no other discernible skills. What if you paired Ohai with Morgan? Speed, intellect and skill. The team would be multidimensional instead of only looking to cross balls and hope Abby hits it. It would also be nice to see some skill and pace at the center of the midfield. Boxx is so slow and deliberate, it's painful to watch and if I see Carli Lloyd shoot one more time from 40 yards, I am going to throw something at the TV.

Appreciate your opinion and do agree it's time for WNT to begin transitioning to younger talent. But with all due respect this comment on Abby is pure nonsense. If you think Wambach has no discernible skill you don't understand the role of a target forward.

There's some humor here, but since you don't know Unc or his dd it's completely lost on you. Carry on...
As for the topic of this thread, WPL will always fail because women's soccer is brutally hard to watch (See: WNBA).

Don't change topic, lol

I know I'm a newbie for this forum, but I'm not new to forums in general. Please don't hijack my topic, lol. ALWAYS failing wasn't in my question. I'm just interested in what's coming up. Another league is coming, regardless of the 'fail' possibilty. I'm curious of what's happening now. BTW, if it's brutally hard to watch, why are you on txsoccer.....
Much love, Eagle Dad, out.....

I doubt it.
We struggle to support the mens Pro team (FC Dallas).
I go to see all my daughters games becuse they ar my daughters but i dont think i woul make more than 1 Pro womnes game if they were in Dallas.
Ask yourself would you go see 10 womens pro games along with your daughters youth games?
