Nope. It's nothing that informative or savvy.
I have to do some screen capture cut-n-paste to create the single l-o-n-g list that I publish each week. I can display up to 30 teams on my screen at one time, and whether or not that line shows up is a function of how accurate I am with cursor placement. Simple as that.

That's too bad for Fever. They were a good team that moved the ball well. Wonder what happened?
My DD plays with Odyssey and we have been lucky to keep the core group of girls together now for almost 3 years - many of the girls are best friends and are finally now starting to click as a complete unit (we did lose our best player to RASE over a year ago, which doesn't help). We have had a few new girls come out recently that should strengthen the team, now that we have made the permanent move to 11v11. Personally, I am a huge fan of both skill development AND team development.
Having played competitive baseball out east growing up (where there wasn't as much team hopping and change), it is always sad to see how much change and turnover there is among teams in North Texas especially at such a young age (i.e. U9 Girls Soccer). I played with the same club from the time I was 7 through High School - after a few years of development with little turnover, we flourished as a team (including having 3 players get drafted). Just watching how the Spurs have been able to play against the Heat is an interesting case study in team play vs. talent. All the talent in the world can't account for the power of synergy that can be created by a well coached team who has played together for years -- just ask the Lakers how their talent helped them this year (vs the Lakers and Celtics of the 80s, whose team rosters were pretty consistent).
As a Dad of a DD who plays for an independent club, I wish Fever the best in rebuilding. I can only imagine what losing 8 players would do to a strong team like theirs.

You don't need to imagine look at the scores from their last tournament L 1-3 L 0-4 L 0-6. Kenn Penn is a good coach, just look at the performance of his other teams, I'm thinking turmoil within the club management.

Enough with beating a dead horse, how about 100 04 teams in the rankings! Gophers, have you ever seen that many teams in an age group?

The '04's have definitely exploded in the past year. This time last year, I was tracking 69 '04 academy teams in NTX (I am currently tracking 70 '05 teams, so at the same point in their age progression, the '04's and '05's are actually equal).
By comparison...
This past year, 87 '01 girls NTX select teams played in LHGCL/PPL/APL.
This past year, 74 '02 girls NTX select teams played in LHGCL/PPL/APL.
I am currently tracking 88 '03 girls NTX girls academy teams in FBR.
So today, yes, the '04's have more academy teams than any of the other recent age groups. We'll have to see if that trend continues.

I cannot imagine 100 teams making into the select year, but if they do these boards should be most excellent reading come QT time next year, especially if LHGCL comes up with some funny rankings.

Crushers, Fever, and still no word on Rosales situation.. teams in the top 30 dropping like flies but strengthening other existing squads. Going to be very competitive next summer. Are Piper players moving to Sting East too? Someone should start a "bomb list" thread of all the gossip circling around teams blowing up.. that'd easily set a record for most replies to a topic.

Sting East Chacon and Piper Pride will begin practicing together in July. Will be intetesting to see how smoothly the two teams combine. The Real Decoy wrote:Fever - 5 went to LP Barnes, 3 to LW.

Who will be coaching? And what happens to all the extra players?

The word on the street is that Chacon will be the "official" coach. As for what hapens to the extra players, your guess is as good as mine. That will be the interesting part, to see who sticks around and who doesn't. I do know that there will be some serious competition for each position especially keeper. The Real Decoy wrote:Cleansheets wrote:Sting East Chacon and Piper Pride will begin practicing together in July. I heard from one of the parents that they were worried there might not be enough players to make a team in the fall? We'll see!
