I think you're missing the point. The comment was made that players were limited to 1 roster come July. This is simply not true anymore and furthermore this rule doesn't apply to SDL games anyway.

Not being picky, but the real storyline is not Scott tying LFS White, it is LFS White tying Scott.  By all accounts (dangerous proposition to take from a forum) Scott didn't play poorly, it was LFS White that came in with a definitive strategy and succeeded with that strategy.

If a team uses guess players these questions always come up.  LFS white is not the first and won't be the last.  The question even lasted as long as it did because of the excuses and justifications that just up just didn't hold water.

No hate for LFS white.  I am just now finding out that they are their own team.  All along I though it was part of LFS black.

Who really cares how big their roster is and who really cares how many LFS Black players were on the field.  Sitting back and not trying to concede is a legitimate strategy used in the soccer world everyday.  The best teams in the world have been frustrated by this and many times don't even walk out with a draw.  This is the strategy used against Barca in almost every game they play.  They can have 80%-90% of possession and still occasionaly walk out with a draw or loss.

LFS needs to be congratulated for not conceding and DT Scott needs to figure out how to play against this strategy that will no doubt be used against them in the future.

These are great points Joey.  And to me the real storyline should be, what does this say about LFS Black?

I mean Scott used to use Rosales players to stack up at times...

Still was a valid point by GO but a better analogy as far as Lakers/Clippers...it was more like Lakers pulling from their squad to cover their D-League teams injured players. No offense at all to LFS White players.

You are being much more tactful in your response then I would have been. Folks calling out JK on that point is like the pot calling the K black or "gray" in this case. And Kix, just to add, there's another team (probably quite a few) that doesn't, but we not relevant enough right now to matter to the discussion.

Trying to understand why JK is teaching this strategy at this level?  Here is a great explanation of why JK will do it:

"Quite honestly you generally see it happen in a few different scenarios, the first one is if you are severly out classed (happens to 03 SRSA quite a bit) and you want to try to only lose 6-0 vs 12-0 however you are willing to concede that you will not be scoring. Another scenario is if you are somewhat evenly matched but you know that your normal attacking style won't work and then leave you exposed, so you want to win but you are willing to play a very defensive game and then hope that you can get a ball cleared long and catch a break on the counter. Personally I'm not a big fan of scenario 1 or 2 at this age because I don't think it teaches the girls anything at this age. However no matter what coaches or parents say, winning matters to them so if there's a way that someone can get a win while not developing a kid they will do it because winning keeps parent$ around and it's a business at the end of the day."

He's one of the coaches at Bishop Lynch, another nationally ranked team.
