04 PrimeTime Sports Cup Championship - Accepted Teams

Re: 04 PrimeTime Sports Cup Championship - Accepted Teams
They never pulled their goalie in the LFS game. I saw the RASE goalie punt the ball a few times so she must have used her hands at some point. And to claim LW doesn't care when he was putting starters back in at the end . . .
Certainly not trying to imply LFS should have won. But the LFS goalie only had to make half a dozen saves, and most of those were rollers. Sure, a few nice shots missed the goal, but total shots between the posts was less than 10.
People blame the score on the "offside trap" played simultaneously with the "parked bus."
You can't play the offside trap if the ball is always in your own defensive third, as some have claimed.
And apparently, if their team was playing RASE, and the ball were in their defensive third, they would still expect their midfielders to play forward and not help to defend.
So - RASE couldn't score because of the offside trap? So wouldn't that make the trap successfully run by the LFS girls? Great for them! Last time I checked, minimizing goals against in a game was a good strategy.
Yes - saw the trap played effectively - so I guess it is LFS's fault that RASE couldn't adjust?
RASE played some great soccer - but the LFS girls worked hard and should be applauded for their effort. They attacked every ball, pressured the RASE girls, and never backed down. Their aggressive play substantially limited RASE's ability to get off good shots.
Sure - the LFS parents were excited that their girls work hard and were rewarded for their efforts - #19 held #1 to a 2-0 win. Sad thing was, after their 10-year-old daughters worked equally hard to get the win, not too much cheering or congratulations from the RASE side.

No excuses for the win. I am sure the coach wanted 3 in every game and he didn't get it in your game. That is down to your girls and coach (I am sure JK will have something cooked up for black lets see if LW responds)

Re: 04 PrimeTime Sports Cup Championship - Accepted Teams
Every time the ball came to a LFS defender they smashed it away. There was no attempt to put passes together. This is not speculation but reality.
LFS played with one, sometimes no forward so their ambition was to merely "not lose by too many".
The reality is that RASE was the only team on the field trying to play soccer. If you were to conduct stats you would see that they must have had about 90-95% of the ball. LFS put bodies in the way, chased, and hustled for the whole game so they definetly need credit for their hard work in for the most part stopping RASE play their normal game.
However I would say that RASE and I'm sure many other teams have not been able to get into full rhythm due to the appalling state of the fields. I've not seen anything as bad as that and I've had two kids go though this. I heard one of the RASE girls may have broken her arm from landing on a field full of holes and weeds yesterday. There is really very little chance for any team to play good soccer this weekend. PrimeTime need to reconsider this venue going forward IMO. I don't remember it being this bad.

Its funny how parents perception of the game starts to change. I will give credit where credit was due. JK used the offside track effectively, with dang near ever player playing defense. The whole game plan was to minimize scoring and stop the bleeding. Kick the ball out of bounce or just BOOT/KICK the ball up .. Defensive strategy??? There were NO 1,2,3 connection passes to play the ball out from the back, NO counter attacks, and definitely NO shots on goals attempt. The keep did touch the ball, a kick that was so far from the goal she has run onto the next field to chance the ball down. Maybe LFS White does play good soccer, but It was not on display when they played RASE.

You must have missed the game. I stood and watched on my end of the field as the goalie punted the ball.

On this, I think we can all agree.

Did we play a defensive game, yep, you'd be insane not to against RASE they'd eat you alive. Keep in mind teams have won World Cups and club titles playing defensively. Is it our goal to play that style in every game, no. But playing RASE is not a typical game.
Everybody can make what they want out of the game. LFS gained confidence and the RASE girls get a reminder that there's still stuff to learn out there. Why not just leave it at that, the 10 year olds have.

We weren't clapping for the loss we clapped for the dedication, effort, and confidence we showed against one of the best 04 teams in the country. None of us are sitting around thinking we are as good as or better than RASE. But we are proud of a group of girls than was "ranked" in the 50's or 60's a year or so ago keep RASE to 1 goal for 97% off the game. It took every ounce of effort from the girls to do so.

Best rebuttal thus far...

The fields weren't playable yesterday. As a previous post stated these fields are in dire condition. Bad fields, 4 teams pulling out, teams supposedly put in the wrong divisions....not a good job at all.

The reason this topic is so active is well justified don't you all think?
Of course we all know this is 10 year old soccer and I more than hope that any feelings or opinions don't leave the forum.
You need an @#$whoopin if u feel anyway towards any of these kids on any team. They can do alot more on that field than most of us I believe
