Re: North Texas Rule Change / NTSSA Might See the End Releases
Having choice will up the customer service and those associations like Garland that are hopelessly unorganized will have the numbers they deserve. Garland never closed registration until it was time to upload files to NTSSA as they wanted to clean up other associations leftovers that couldn't register. Now GSA won't be able to pull that trick. The Garland coaches did not appreciate getting kids dumped on their rosters through the fifth game and having to order uniforms multiple times.
With the economy in North Texas booming and numerous companies relocating to this area Garland should have had a huge growth in numbers. From fall 2014 to spring 2015 when numbers should increase about 10%, Garlands numbers were plummeting. GSA went from 234 teams in the fall to 207 teams in the spring.
Richardson, Rockwall and Wylie left Garland to play interleague with Plano. Chamber Classic has now left as well. That leaves Lake Highlands and Rowlett and they would have to be crazy to stay with Garland as there is a huge mass exodus in progress and there will be very few major league teams to play. Garland already has combined the U15-U19 girls. Richardson and Plano are going to have lots of Garland teams joining their ranks very happily!
This change is a cause for great celebration!

This is very common across all associations. Soccer is a Fall sport and spring is for other sports for many kids. I have known many rec teams that just play in the Fall then return the following Fall. Not everyone plays soccer year round like the ones on this forum.
Rec soccer is rec soccer, but preformed rosters starts to look like something completely different. Now I can bring an academy team to made up of kids from different associatons to play in a rec league? You can be proud of that trophy:)
Most of the associations had already starting combining with other leagues at U11+ just because of the lack of numbers as the rosters get larger and kids pursue other activities. This was probably just an extension of what was already occuring. I personally don't think you will see a lot of movement to other associations. Most rec parents want to play right in their backyard and don't want to travel for practices and games. PPL already has a ton of rec teams in boys and girls for those looking to be on a preformed roster and wanting to try to play more competitive.

Garland coaches really will have no choice but to move as Garland only has two associations or possibly none by now that will play interleage for the U11 and up this fall. And, those leagues that left Garland all went to play in Plano and said flat out that they would not be back. Plano has made it clear they will not be welcoming Garland to play there because of the issues going on there from what I am told.
Garland may soon be nothing more than a kiddie league with U4-U12 only.

Re: North Texas Rule Change / NTSSA Might See the End Releases
There are several other little clubs forming in Garland Soccer that have a few rec teams and then a select team or academy team or whatever. These very experienced coaches who love to work with the kids are being black listed and not allowed to have more than one team or so per coach.
I was with the Major league director and we were locking teams up in the field house and recruiting parents to coach who had never played soccer for U13-U15 teams, when there were these experienced coaches who really wanted more teams. Another director went to the Garland Soccer office to ask why one of these experienced coaches couldn't take a team that that director had assigned her to and the office person claimed that president David Arciniega had told her that the board had voted to black list that experienced coach. The board had never voted on that, so it appears Garland Soccer's president was up to his usual antics.
Garland Soccer used to be the third largest association in North Texas. There was a director that wanted to form a select league, but as usual nothing was done, so Garland Soccer in a booming local economy has been the incredible shrinking soccer association. It is really sad to see so many leaving what has been their home for many years.
Garland Soccer coaches have been leaving in droves over the past few years and this rule change is something many coaches are thrilled about.

And, still we wait.....
Good news is that associations with great customer service are taking entire teams! It will be interesting to see the numbers come spring when the rule is more public.

Re: North Texas Rule Change / NTSSA Might See the End Releases
NTSSA is a charity and it is high time they start being transparent. The harassment needs to be stopped. US Club swept up most of South Texas and they are needed here in light of the mismanagement in NTSSA. There is a reason I sued Garland Soccer and NTSSA board member David Arciniega. Obviously, I should have included the ever corrupt North Texas in said suit.

Soapboxmom wrote:NTSSA apparently brought a coach and a small association up on charges for taking advantage of the new open territory rule. I was told that the charges were filed and there was no documentation with the charges. NTSSA was apparently forced to drop the phony charges that appear to have been filed simply for the purpose of harassing members.

Why don't you name those at NTSSA that are so derelict in their duties? You're pretty good about slamming people, why not slam those at NTSSA that are inflicting so much harm? Maybe you could sue them, too. You might be able to go after enough of them that would make your other $100,000 look like chicken feed.
