Hmmm....seems like a faker here. Solar Pulp signs a full-paying roster 60 days ago for a development-filled year of soccer for their starting 11 and bench. They then go to their first tournament after turning Select and need to turn to a "superstar" guest player to secure success in their first tournament?? If anyone knows who this player is....she is a superstar and probably a future WNT player...has never had any intentions to play in her age category. Congrats Chris Pulpaneck and Solar....you are truly a class act development group. WIN AT ALL COSTS....at the sacrifice of your other "secondary" players playing time and development!! I wish my daughter could be part of your winning environment.

Come on proud Solar Pulp parents....no team carries guest players at the early year Plano Labor Day tournament. Tell us how proud you are having your guest superstar dominate other teams and take playing time from each of your daughter's play time. Can my daughter be a guest next time? Will you play with a pure team during the Lake Highlands season? Winning!!

Ooops!! I'm so sorry...maybe I said too much as a first time poster. I hope I didn't offend any Solar Pulp parent who didn't know their daughter was being benched because of their superstar guest player.

Yes, if you didn't notice....I'm pissed and overly unimpressed by this Coach and Manager's decision to include an unnecessary guest player to an already super team. Why?? Everything you are doing represents what is wrong with over the top competitive sports in NTX. Let your full-paying players get their play time instead of the free-loading superstar guest player getting touches and scoring easy goals.

You guys are all pretty funny. This isn't the first time that the super star has played for a team in a big tournament.  Even with all of the whining about schedules, bracketing, seeding, "easy roads", field conditions, terrible refing, manager bribing, not enough orange slices at halftime, etc., at least I don't think Sting Black Diaz has ever employed her services.

24 goals scored in the first 4 games of this tournament against "D1" teams. We all know the Solar Pulp girls are very good but how many goals and assists came from the star guest player (as nicely but loosely acknowledged by the almighty TatonkaBurger). Come on!! This is really a pitiful example of WIN AT ALL COSTS!! SHAMEFUL!!

Guest player or not? The better team on that day will win. No excuses, no wonder kids nowadays cry when something is"too hard"

Milli, getting pissed and publicly expressing your anger is one thing. But, calling out a 10 yr old and labeling her as a "free loader" is pretty low, even for a D-bag that cares to much. I'm pretty sure she's not the one making the decisions.

I do agree tho, a bit overkill inviting the "guest player".

Your comment is ridiculous. 60 days after signing these girls go select and pay $3000 to their club, a coach should then play with their own team...a coach doesn't need "guest" players. If its Xmas or later and teams are looking to change or upgrade, then you have guest players. If your daughter is on Solar Pulp now...you need to ask questions or runaway. Recruit and cut as others have said in the past.

I don't disagree that using a guest player who takes away playing time from a paying player is unnecessary. What's ridiculous is you labeling a child who did not make the decisions in the first place. The coach allowed her to guest play, kept her in as long as he did, kept her in a scoring position etc. What's ridiculous is whining about "winning at all costs" when it's clear your anger stems from the fact that your team didn't win. If your team did happen to win, would you still be so pissed? What difference does it make if she guest played or not? Her playing didn't compromise your kids playing time. Or, are you actually a Red parent whose kid sat because of the guest player?

Why didn't 04's have a super player lurking around to help LP Elite?! She shouldn't change the complexion of the game that much. Sounds like crying and excuses to me.

Thanks OTIP, your post says it all. Winning at all costs does have a price. THERE SHOULD BE NO GUEST PLAYERS at this point. 60 days after U11 parents pay good hard money to have their daughter committed to one team. So bring in guest player to take her time. Winning!!

O4 elite didn't have any super players lurking around. Not a fan of guest players for the reasons stated but don't get the complaining either. You play who is in front of you and the super player has to be in the same age group

oh but if pulp is letting the girl try out the team and hope that she might join up or at least consider it then thats a perfectly good reason to bring in a guest super star. But really in the end there was a good shot that pulp might win it anyway

Not to take any credit from the guest player she's really good but , the solar vs defeters game , defeters lost 2-0 solar scored in the last 5 min of the game defeters were playing much better then solar, and kept solar In check for the most part, all I'm going to say is solar wil lose this game in a rematch without the guest player easily,

I get why the 'In Club we trust' parents are upset. Personally, I salute this player and her parents.

If you signed a $3,000 contract thinking your coach will focus 100% on your DD you are going to be one pissed parent until next summer. Most tournaments accept guest players so get over it.

New posters, new to the game ,but could have a heart attack from high blood pressure if they don't relax. Sit back and enjoy your DD playing soccer it will be over and gone before you know it. She just hopes your still alive once it's over.

Sounds like the Pulp Parents are Furious about this Guest player!!! That's what Mr Manager gets for a Dumb A decision. Still think their Draw was a Cake Walk!

Guest, why do you care so much what another team is doing. If pulp is guilty of all you say #1 who cares and #2 unless your daughter is on the bench bc this girl is here (this is the deal isn't it?), it doesn't effect you. The FBR doesn't exist so rankings aren't at stake. The tournament doesn't count towards next years league assignment. Are you that concerned about a trophy? Your team likely would have lost if this mystery guest wasn't there anyway so again, why do you care. Enjoy a few games with your daughter then go have fun on your day off.

Can't really blame the coach for pursuing the player and can't really blame the parents for not being happy about it. The only parents who like guest players are either unaffected by the drop in playtime or would rather hoist a trophy than see their kid actually earn one. Pulp doesn't need the help so I would assume he trying to get her on the team.

Days like today are why we as parents drive countless miles to and from practice, skip vacations to train for soccer, miss countless birthday parties and all of the other sacrifices that go with it. If you watched the Solar v Rush semi-final game that was 1-1 into overtime you know what I am talking about. I saw girls on both teams leave everything they had on that field. Game could have gone either way in regulation. Congratulations to Solar for pulling it out in overtime. Watching games like that make it all worth it.

Entertaining game so far.

I had never seen Solar's special "guest" play before today. She scored two in the finals and for most of the game had all the Solar's offense moving through her. Very impressive. The rest of Solar's offense seemed invisible.
Whatever Pulp paid for her services she was worth it. Her fee will be double in the next tourney.
