05 Girls Plano Labor Day Schedules

I had never seen Solar's special "guest" play before today. She scored two in the finals and for most of the game had all the Solar's offense moving through her. Very impressive. The rest of Solar's offense seemed invisible.
Whatever Pulp paid for her services she was worth it. Her fee will be double in the next tourney.

I heard it was as follows:

Solar P 1
Sting B 1
Superstar Guest player 2

Kudos to all the girls who played this weekend in some pretty oppressive heat and still found it within themselves to push it to the final whistle.  The "guest" player everyone is referring to here is unquestionably a special player, a complete game-changer, as several very good teams discovered this weekend.  I wish her and her family well as I'm sure she'll have a lot of options if she can stay on her current path.  Despite what others may be suggesting here, I'm glad we had the chance to play against her today.  It was an excellent test and provides our girls with a glimpse into the possible.

And congrats to Solar for another excellent tournament.  With or without a guest, you guys are a wonderful team, and I look forward to our next meeting.

Does anyone know what happened in the silver A championship?

São Paulo beat fcd 1-0 in OT in silver b. Good match. Both teams left it all out there.

I am not even a 05 parent, but I hope Pulp takes her on full time and starts her, let her play her OWN AGE instead of 2 years up at Solar. Why? So I can keep typing my favorite word WAH WAH WAH.

I know, but it will remain a secret so I can read Becky posting WAH WAH WAH in the meantime. The beauty of it is she can play 05 (her age) for now or several years up. Coaches and parent decision.

Ahh man RuReady2Rumble what a great post - where did it go? I stepped away and came back to type a response and it was gone. It was the some of the best most blatant honestly probably from a DD parent in long time. I love Sho'nuff and BKs response. Easy probably for them to say as my guess is their DD wasn't getting quality bench time at the liberty of a guest player this weekend. Yes, we can all sign up for this but you really need to ask yourselves if you pay the same $3000 fees and get 50% playing time and another player pays $3,000 and gets 100% - where is your 50% discount on the fees. Seems only fair. Parents need to learn that nothing is more important than playing time. Here is an advertisement for some of the other Top LH teams who could always use some talent. Pulp DDs enjoying bench time for guest players - would you rather sit the bench on the Top team or play the game in a Top 10.

SA2G, I think you are on to something here. Should players only pay a % of their playing time. Seems fair. I am guessing in this case the guest player didn't have to pay anything to play in this tournament, or pro-rated fee. Did the DDs who lost playing time because of her get a discount on their fees?

This issue will continue to get worse. Next year the roster size moves to 18. With 10 field players and 7 on the bench it is going to be very difficult to get much playing time for anyone that isn't top 3 on their team. I have seen coaches who start different girls every game and play their whole roster a similar amount to try and keep from having a drop off in talent where subs are concerned. On the flip side there are coaches who have a clear starting 11 and a clear group of subs who especially in a tough games, get very little play time. Some parents think that training with the best talent is where their money and time is best spent regardless of playtime...plus factor in location of practices. If your DD plays at the highest level in her age group she is subject to be replaced at any time, that is usually the way it goes. But Im sure the Solar parents didn't expect it to impact them so soon as it did if this guest player had all the play time.

We are talking about competitive select D1 Soccer right? This is really starting to sound more and more like socialism and Frisco Soccer Association. You want to feel bad for somebody go watch an MLS game and watch guys warm up for hours before and during the game who never see a minute and get paid $35,000 a year. Even D1 pro teams have benches,and yes some play more than others. This translates to every sport as well. Ever see the movie Rudy, you will feel much better after watching that. Four years of training for one play.

Our DDs are 10. Focus on the training being offered , and the training environment. If you are training for 2 days per week at 1.5 hours not enough for D1. Supplement it with something else. Training time to game time should be a 5 to 1 ratio.

Or you can sit here and complain and fight over crumbs. 12 minutes vs 15 minutes, etc. Dont be a parent with unrealistic expectations and a sense of entitlement.

That special "10 year old" is no special but trains 100x more than all the Sting players. She deserve all the attention she gets because she is 4X the hard worker they are. Take you Silver medal and toss it.

I don't see why everyone is so upset. She laces up her cleats just like all the other girls. The reality is is she alone is able to shred you guys teams it say alot more about your teams than it does about her. She is an 05 and you should be able to handle an 05. Now for the pulp parents maybe I can see some sore toes. Either the coach is trying to get her on which is great or he felt he needed the help to get the PLD win. So either you should welcome the possible teammate and make it a nice environment for her to enjoy or accept that your team isn't quite as good as you think you are.

I will say had a situation with my older son at regionals. Some trophy hunter parents were pushing the coach to take on guest players. He refused and said I would rather lose with the kids that got me here. But the last time I saw pulp's team they were going to win PLD even without her

From the Pulp parents I talked to, they didn't mind, with one or two exceptions.  Most parents don't understand the logic, but for the 2-3 bench players that stay with Pulp do so because they are in it for the long haul and consider the opportunity to practice with Pulp a bigger advantage to the development of the DD than playing 100% of the game for another coach.  Credit to them cause I couldn't do it.

And thanks for the offers on the medals but I have plenty.  They are in a box in the attic and I earned them all as a kid.  The good news is that I don't have to live through my DD and her soccer career.  She gets to work hard for herself and earn her own medals and trophies.

If this is the kid I think it is, didn't she develop under LW for her first couple of years in academy soccer?
Even then she was running over teams including my dd's.

Certainly seems like the 1 or 2 exception parents from pulps team are the ones voicing their opinion.

To the Jack A$$ that thinks his or her Super Star kid trains 100x more than sting girls do. Dude calm down!!! If my DD was the super star being mentions here I'd be jumping for joy. Everyone is talking about how great she is. Don't Ruin it for her by being a complete DB!!!!
