Can anyone confirm the rumor about Ludwig's passing?

I was aware that in the past several weeks Ludwig was not doing well, but last week he reported he was generally ok, just short of breath. There is a post on FB reporting he passed away. Does anyone know if this info is accurate? If so, this is a terrible loss for the NTX soccer community. Ludwig's skills trainings are legendary.

Evidently, he received 3 snakebites at White Rock while training a group.

For those who knew Ludwig, he was training the Brazilian Women Olympic Team trying to teach them everything that he taught Marta.

The truth is that I will always remember Mimi Asom driving herself to afternoon skill sessions with Ludwig and some of our DD's that were 3-4 years younger. He was so very proud to be training girls like Mimi and all other other NT soccer girls. Mimi had every reason not to drive out of her way on Sunday afternoon to train with Ludwig. She was on one of the top teams in the US, Surf Cup Champion, USYSA National Champion, ECNL National Champion and a top recruit but she was there, every Sunday. Absolutely dedicated to her craft and the person that she chose to work with her was Ludwig. That probably tells you all you need to know about the man. Very quirky without a doubt but I know of several DD's with tears tonight.

Ugh, very sorry to hear that. Quirky yes, but his skills sessions certainly worked for my youngest. Ludwig was always proud of the girls he worked with, even the ones you've never heard of. He would regularly stop by games to see how they were doing. He didn't have to do that but he did it anyway. No other skills coach that my daughters have been to ever did that. He wasn't perfect, but who is? I thought he was a great skills Coach and I liked him....quirks and all.

I'm sorry to hear this sad news. He trained my daughter a couple of years ago. He was such a great skills coach and was so good with the girls. Although he was crazy and could keep you on the phone for hours when he called, she loved listening to all his stories when she trained with him. We will miss seeing him and his bicycle.

We met him at the Starbucks closest to UTD. Was that his "office" on game days, between watching games?

As different a man as you will meet in ntx soccer that's for sure. But rare to find a skills coach that truely cares about them so much.

I am not looking forward to telling my girls, they will be very upset. You will be missed Ludwig.

+1 Ludwig will be missed. Eccentric man, a good soul and very good at what he did.

A reminder that tomorrow we will meet at Ludwig's favorite skills meeting spot for an informal celebration of his life, sharing stories and (weather permitting) a balloon release in his honor. We have a great group already planning to be there.

Actually, I believe neon orange or neon chartreuse would best represent Ludwig (come on now, you know that's funny, right is right), but both of my girls like purple. I dont care about the balloon color. I'm coming out of respect for a man that touched the lives of my children in a positive way.
