FBR09 Rankings September 6th, 2017

Updated 09 FBR as of 9/06/17. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 2/13/17 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  As always regulation scores are used for FBR, not OT and no PKs that determine game result(if known).  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

Will Rush be dropped since they are not playing any '09 girls teams?

If FBR09 follows past precedent (and it appears he/she is) they will be ranked as long as they have at least 3 qualifying games to rank.

I think it is odd what Rush is doing. They are playing in a boys '09 Silver league and an '08 Silver girls league and playing in Silver '08 girls tournaments. They could find better competition at the top of the '09 Gold girls division as anyone can see by the scores. They played well in a Gold '08 tournament and showed they belong but when they got bounced in the semis they went back to Silver '08 competition. Top '09 Gold is better than '08 Silver. They should either play '09 Gold or if they want to be challenged, play '08 Gold and be ok with losing a few games. You either want to win against the best of your age division or you want to be challenged against older and better competition... but what they are doing is neither. To each their own, I just find it odd.

Interesting take on the situation. Maybe they thought the '08 Girls silver and '09 Boys silver would be more fast and physical. Not sure playing in the Gold '09 girls division would help. Looks like they have beat the top teams in the past and it is flooded with newer teams. Maybe 1-2 good games. They took a chance and we will see how the tournament circuit treats them.

Look at the scores... the '09 Gold PrimeTime Spring season gave them closer games than the '08 Silver teams are giving them. I'm not saying they shouldn't have played up but it just seems they wanted to play up but then didn't like the idea of losing some games. Playing physical '09 boys could make sense (personally, I wouldn't like it for my DD) but playing Silver '08s girls doesn't. They played the #3 ranked '08 Gold team to a 2-1 loss result... keep playing '08 Gold. They may not win every game but the team will be challenged and they belong.

The '08 Girls semi's was more physical than any game they have played this season against the boys or '08 girls. Colon was big, strong, and fast. It was a good learning experience, and Colon deserved to win. Unfortunately the '08 Silver choice didn't work out well, as I guess any team can sign up. I would hate to see a bronze division. Like I said, lets see what happens on the tournament circuit. As for not playing in the Gold '08 division, it wasn't for not losing games, it was which '08 teams were going to play 9V9.

Makes sense... I think the Saturday PT league game against '09 Scarfone Samba in a few weeks will be telling. If Rush blows them out then any '09 play for them till next year is a waste of time b/c Scarfone Samba and Solar Angelone are the only two teams physical enough to hang with Rush IMO. Colvin's strength is speed up top which Rush can handle... this is why Rush has matched up well against Colvin in the past. All 3, Colvin, Angelone and Scarfone Samba have improved since the Spring PT league so it will be interesting to see if Rush has widened the gap with them or not.

Rush might be a little bit above everyone else, but scarfone samba, Angelone and Colvin are pretty close in competition. Then the competition drops a little. My two cents

I wonder if one gold league vs another gold league has a different calculation for ranking points. Would prime time rank higher than the Pit League for the 09s division??? If so does a team get more calulating points for winning in prime time?

I would think that Primetime was higher than the PIT... but this might be a little subjective, and I don't know how you would decide on the weight of the points. This is why I'm not doing ranking.

It doesn't work that way. It's a point system based upon wins against teams in different tiers and how well the teams you play do against other teams in various tiers. Teams are placed in tiers based upon winning percentages against the other tiers.

The only real time the league matters is in the initial rankings when little is known about the teams. Teams have been around now, and they have records at this point. Ranking points are determined by what tier your opponent is in, not what league you are in.
