FBR09 Rankings October 3rd, 2017

Updated 09 FBR as of 10/03/17. Only 09 teams with 3 or more games played since 4/01/17 are included in the FBR published rankings. All games in the U9 leagues and tournaments that "publish results" are included.  

FBR09 will also include any 09 teams playing against each other in the 08 division.  As long as the teams that are playing up are not using 08 players when playing against other 09 teams.

Also, ranking points are derived from who you play and their tier(not your own tier) and, how well the teams you play do.  As always regulation scores are used for FBR, not OT and no PKs that determine game result(if known).  FBR is presented as W/L/T not W/T/L.  This FBR is the sole representation of FBR09,  any and all complaints(and compliments) should be directed to FBR09.  These rankings use the same software and criteria as with all prior year FBRs.

This is great, thanks again FBR09G. Looking through the latest rankings, the No. 14 team caught my eye - Irving Kosmos 09G. I wasn't familiar with that team, so I tried to look up their GotSoccer history. In doing so, I could only find an Irving Kosmos 08G that played several 09G teams in the Dallas Open last May. I could not find any evidence of an Irving Kosmos 09G team. As part of the ongoing scrubbing process, it might be something to look into. You are correct, i looked at this last night around 11pm or so and I saw Kosmos in there ranked pretty high, but I really didn't know who they were. This happens to be an 08 Team it is just labeled incorrectly in my Database.

FC Dallas East Gray has two teams:

FC Dallas East Gray (Copa) - team record since inception 2-2-0 (W-D-L)
FC Dallas East Gray (Predator) - team record since inception 7-2-0 (W-D-L)

They definitely have a confusing profile. Maybe they have '08s and '09s and play up or down depending on roster changes.

The more glaring noticeable on the ranking is DT South Red at #8 above DT South. That is clearly due to a lack of data so it will work itself out in a few weeks.

Brywood, post the gotsoccer profiles for each team. That will help FBR'09

They are listed twice on the FBR #14 & #16

I just discovered this website about a week ago and wanted to thank FBR09G for publishing these rankings - which based on my (admittedly incomplete) knowledge of the teams is in general remarkably accurate.  While it may feel a bit silly to be ranking 8-year old soccer teams, I do think it is helpful to parents to understand at a general level where their daughters team is at relative to other teams in the area...sometimes it can be hard to get a straight answer from the coaches when they are incentivized to make sure you stay on the team and keep paying dues.

Quick question - I've seen a number of posters use the abbreviation "DD" when referring to their daughter.  What does "DD" stand for?  Darling Daughter?  Dedicated Daughter?  Delusional Dad?

Same coach though....he coaches all the Kosmos Teams

Agreed...giving a lot of weight for its wins.

Please understand that the results are distorted towards teams with limited data... just give it time and it will correct. Teams that are playing only PT Gold league and haven't won many games will be unfairly punished until they have more games (ie, Williams, Vazquez, Garcia and Nova) and teams that are playing weak teams in other leagues but winning will get a temporary higher ranking before falling as more games are played (I.e., DT South Red among others). By the end of the fall season the results will work themselves out. Fever United was #3 at the beginning of Spring and now I'd say they are unfairly ranked too low. In time they will come back up to where they should be which is probably in the 8 to 12 range. Kicks Luna is also too low but they will recover too.

The rankings are about as good as it gets for something that is software based instead human opinion.

Just be happy we have FBR. On the boy's site they have Dad's opinion top 10's instead of FBR which just causes a lot of bickering over bias and name calling. The boys need an FBR but they seem like a hostile bunch so maybe not a good idea.

Totally get it and have faith in the methodology. I know it's a lot of work and I appreciate the time being put into it. Hoping some extra sets of eyes can help the data stay clean, especially when some of these team names are so similar and their GotSoccer accounts are a mess on the back-end. Thanks again, FBR09G!

Yeah i don't have room to complain on our spot until we can close out a game....every games been close until last week. lol. But playing top competition is the best way to gauge your team. I do appreciate all that you do.

When i click on the names on the Pit League Website, they both have the same GotSoccer Account. I can't separate them if they are both using the same GotSoccer Account.

Rankings at this age make zero sense. The reason is there are many girls historically and currently who literally play for 3 or 4 different teams on any given weekend and girls move from team to team on a whim. When was the last time a team that played in a league took the same girls to a tournament? Or when was the last time there wasn't a ton of guess playing happening on any given weekend in any given league. Come on man.. Really parents of what 8/9 yr olds?

Everybody knows this. When the girls get older, there are still guest players for tournament teams compared to league play. All the parents are about development at this age... the rankings are just for fun and have no impact on anything. If you want to criticize the rankings (FBR has been around for many years) then avoid the message board.

Seems like a disgruntled parent
