Tournaments are coming up so everyone can play each other again. Hopefully top 8 can play in the same tournament. It will be great to see a gold division with more than 5 teams. On another note top 20 teams play in Prime Time league except for three Not sure if The Pit scores will make a big difference.

I heard that a Samba player was tripped in the box and no penalty called.. Also a Covey player was offsides and scored... The goal was 2" further to the right so one of the Covey goals should have deflected and Samba had way more shots in the first half that just didn't go in... So based on all of these FACTS Scarfone should have won 8 - 1. That's about the same score Angelone beat Covey a couple weeks ago. See it all makes perfect sense.

When my DD loses its usually because her and her team played like crap or the other team was better. There isn't a we should have because we didn't and losing is our fault not the refs, wind, field condition, aggression level, skills.....

Offsides, did you really just make both of these statements?  It sounds like you are talking out of both sides of your mouth  Smile

Yes, varying degrees of sarcasm are a well-known staple on this board, making most of the posts all the more entertaining. The "2 inches to the right" comment was a good tip-off.

Appreciate it ProDallas...I'm a new to the forum and a little slow this morning (only a few cups of coffee into my day)...I just read it as an attempt from a parent to justify why their DD team didn't win...Maybe I read it wrong, or maybe...

It took me a while to get used to it. But, I've learned a lot about various clubs, coaches, leagues, the "system", etc. by filtering through the sarcasm, humor and snark, particularly on the older year threads (check them out). I was surprised at first, but then began to see the pattern, especially among the regulars. I'd say to take about 90% of what you read on this site with many grains of salt. IMO, only about 10% is truly mean-spirited and a waste of time.

OK ALL, I am the Covey of "SOLAR COVEY 09G" I love all this wanna know stuff! My team is good! Are we the best, not yet! But I can say I play my kids who are committed to me and not borrow kids from other teams when they play the better teams. Not saying any of the teams played me did that but let's be real, we know that happens because so many coaches look for wins at this age. Why? Because too many parents at this age, live through their kids and want to win. If you are that parent on that team that allows having the coach bring in players on another team on certain games and you are okay with that! You as a parent has problems! Stop living through your kids and just enjoy watching your kid play! GOOD TEAM OR NOT! JUST ENJOY WATCHING YOUR KID PLAY! Just my 2 cents!

As a parent, of a child who guest plays for others and plays on a team who uses guest players when we have kids out, disagree with your statement regarding most parents. Of course i want my child and her team to win, but not because I am living through them. It is because I understand the value of a win in life, especially a win when you have worked very hard/long to obtain as it teaches them life lessons. Most of us enjoy watching our children play, win or lose. It doesn't matter what team my child is playing on or who against, It is about them giving their best. Our team, coach and parents all have that common belief and it is refreshing.

Covey is playing in Vererans Cup, but not the challenge cup. The Veteran's Cup has mostly Silver and Bronze teams in it. Also in your statement are u saying the teams in the top are borrowing players? Rush, samba, angelone, colvin???

I know, I added the Veterans cup just recently. Long time of not playing if not. Not because I would rather play the silver/bronze teams but because we need games. As for the challenge cup, my tournament schedule has us traveling to Friendship cup that weekend. I would rather play the top teams every week and fight it out. And all I can say with your other question is "it happens!" Not against me as they don't need to against my team, we are just above average. But "it happen's"

Rush, Samba, Colvin and Angelone do not share players. The '09 age group does not share near as much as other age groups for some reason. If there is any sharing, it is extremely minor and not enough to really matter. Covey just started playing top '09 teams so I'm sure he is just referring to player sharing in general b/c it really hasn't happened much in this age group... YET.
