Guilt by association is a real thing. Even though no on has been "proven" guilty, even the association with the circumstances that would lead to such charges and an arrest - warrant caution and action as BigTex suggests. I'm all for giving people second chances, just not with my 9 yr old DD.

I have to agree. i err on the side of safety for my kids. Sad situation but shows the consequences of bad judgement.

Being a Christian doesn't mean putting your head in the sand and ignoring the safety of your children. Most people who throw this line out are not Christians but have cliff notes on it and use them in the wrong context.

Well, I just pray you or somebody close to you never get wrongly accused of something. I have a close friend who went through something similar and it was a terrible experience for all involved. It took him a long time to build his life again, even though he'd done no wrong. I'd rather teach my kids to not judge and be mindful of other people.

that's incredibly naive. For example you are at a party where drugs and guns are but they are not your drugs or guns. Putting yourself there puts you in danger and responsible people don't do that. Saying they weren't my drugs or guns as you are perp walked is beside the point. You were associating with criminals,you put your life on the line being around these people and there are consequences to those actions. That's what i teach my kids....

My dd plays for a very good, older age division LP team. I don't recall losing a tournament match this season. The coach is the best we've had in many ways, and that's looking back over a decade of academy and select.

My dd has played for Sting and some other clubs over the years. None of these clubs happens to have their own police force or an investigator on staff. I don't think any of them were/are willing to sacrifice player safety/well being for the sake of a coach who turns out to have issues; each of these clubs would do what's appropriate if a coach is proven unsuitable. It seems like that is what has transpired in this case as well.

If LP as a club has been stained by how they handled this particular case, I'd like to know how.
