Puppy Mill, nailed it!!

Funniest thing about the post is it says this:

Neither team is in "build" mode.

Yet... let's look at the Gerrard team:

In all their pictures the most number of players I see is 6. So what happens when next season they go to 8v8 or 9v9... unless the coach is keeping them in 3v3 or 4v4 leagues...

Now lets look at the Fowler team:

Pretty sure 2 of the girls on this squad also play on the Gerrard squad... so, that takes that team down from 9 to 7... what happens when you go to 8v8 or 9v9???

However the funniest thing with the "Not in build mode" statement is... WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS POST THEN??

Why are you posting that you're looking for players if you're not trying to BUILD a team?! Can you please answer this?!?! I'm a little confused... you say you're looking for players, but then you state neither team is in build mode... I'm confused.

Let me help with your confusion. Liverpool Gerrard has 11 girls on their roster, and Liverpool Fowler has 6 on their roster, with six other players trying out. Neither of the teams have players that play for one another. This past weekend, the teams combined players at the last minute to play v the '06s.

I see a handful of, "he said," or, "you said," without me ever actually typing it.

The ad broadcasts a place for players looking for more to play. As Gunner said, nothing more, nothing less than a place to play for players with previous experience.

I hope your dd develops into a strong player, wherever she plays. If she outgrows her team and the practices are being slowed down for the players that are behind, or the new players being welcomed and your dd needs a place to continue her development - this is a place to come to. Dallas Kicks is another, Liverpool Keegan if you're in the Keller/Southlake area is another.

Trying out? Pretty sure trying out at this age is illegal under NTXS rules... hope you're not the coach or that could come back to bite you int he butt...

What are NTXS rules, never heard of it?

There are NTSSA rules, but those don't necessarily apply as most academy teams are not playing in NTSSA leagues. I believe TGPL, SDL, PSA, and all of indoor do not fall under NTSSA's outdated academy rules.

I remember my DD playing rec and being told by her rec coach that she couldn't miss rec games to play in a competitive tournament due to these NTSSA rules. I don't know if has changed, but in NTSSA it said rec had to be the priority.

If you have interest in coming to a session, contact me in private.

You're right, Blank. No coach or team is obligated to take any Academy player just because they show up. NTXSjunkie has Academy soccer confused with rec soccer. Players attend practices in all age groups to see if the team and coach is a fit, and for the coach to see if the player is a fit for the team. The parent/player does not have to commit to the team, and the coach does not have to commit to the player/parent until they are invited to be added to the roster.

The players "trying out" for Fowler are being evaluated, and are evaluating the team and the coach to see if it is a fit for their dd. The players do not have to be invited to the Academy, as standards should remain high.

Definition of ACADEMY
1
a : a school usually above the elementary level; study

NTXSjunkie, what exactly do you think topics titled, "Team XYZ has Open Skills" means? Allow me. To get as many kids together as possible, run a few sessions, and see which kids are the best to form a team. Once the team is formed, then, the meaning changes to come enjoy free skills and see if you are good enough to join.

Well here you go:

4.10 TRYOUTS
NTSSA has no rule that condones or restricts tryouts except that tryouts are not allowed for U-6 through U-10 players. It does, therefore, support its Member Association’s rules concerning the matter. If the player’s home association does not allow or refuses the right to hold tryouts, NTSSA must uphold the Member Association’s actions.

So you can't hold tryouts... so in essence if a person comes to you and states that they want to pay to play on the team you can't tell them they are not good enough as you are not allowed to have them "tryout" for the team. That's what I am referring to. Im just pointing out that you want to be careful with your wording... I've seen some coaches get suspended for saying less because the way they said something in terms that were easier to understand for the parents... made it sound like they were violating a rule.

Based on prior posts I would say yes TRD is the coach- well unless the coach has the same team manager for all of their 04 and 07 teams. So that IMO makes the original post even more Rolling Eyes

That said the coach is not breaking any rules. If so I would have my dd out at SRSA 03 to force her way on the team
cheers

Yes, sorry it should have been NTSSA... good catch there.

And yes, if your player is registered for both recreational and Academy soccer... then recreational games are to be given the priority. I believe that is the rule. I do not know why, but it is. I find that odd because ultimately it should be up to the player to decide which game they want to go to. But, to prevent that most recreational games are on Saturdays while Academy games are on Sundays

I am not sure what the fuss is all about. But the post is about us wanting high quality players. If your daughter is not an exceptional player we are not interested in her being on our team. So if she is mediocore their is no reason to reply we have a team of exceptional players and I am sure coach would not be interested in her. She is either first class or don't bother applying for the position.

I really hope you are not a representative of Matt's parents. How you can ask for a "first class" player at U6 is beyond me and laughable. Whoever you consider "first class" on that U6 team today could not even be playing the sport in a year from now.

There is no way this is real and should be treated as such.

I hope so. There are good people in that group that I'm sure don't hold those views, but somebody sure made it easy for that to appear true, even if it isn't.

Well I have to believe it is not real or I will lose all hope in our little soccer community. If it is real than I am going to talk to Admin about removing my supporting member tag. Smile

mouth dropped. The comment is not reflective of the team or its philosophy, and certainly not the parents. I just realized how easy it is to troll anyone or any team. Wow! Agreed bigtex, not going to take that one seriously.
