Lesson to be learned:
When you watch the evening news, and they talk about a "study" showing you should think or react a certain way to an issue...then remember this FBR that they could show you and tell you that RASE is not the best 04 team...the FBR (study) may show them at #2 - but you know better.  Use this criticality when watching the news too.

Agreed. Placing RASE at #2 is laughable. 

RASE wasn't placed at #2...they were computed at #2...no slight... Just numbers...

I'm curious how RASE is as high as #2 with only 4 games played.

I'm just curious as to how the numbers work in this situation, because I do think they are a top 2 or 3 team in this age group.

The RASE fanboy love is amusing at best.

Why crazy? It's been over a year since they played Scott and Tx Spirit and almost TWO YEARS since DTS. If you compare goal diff with like competition with RASE and those teams you will see there is little to no gap in terms of score diff today. A year or two is a LIFETIME at this stage of academy soccer.

It's a slight to these other good teams to auto pick RASE who they have not played in 300-600 days. It's time for RASE to earn their spot. I don't they should mind doing it.

Whao there Mustang. I was speaking sarcasm, that's my second language ya know.

The emphasis of that remark was really on the obscure SNL character line.

Know what makes for better conversation? Those who actually watched some of the games this past weekend.

I don't see the big deal. FBR is a calculation and the 4 games enters RASE into the formula and puts them out and #2. At some point Spirit will run into RASE or any of the other top team and take a loss. If playing RASE was that important Spirit and DTS would have entered the tournament since it was clear that RASE would be there before registration closed. Either way eventually they will run into each other and spirit will fall 3-0 maybe more because I think LFS has a better defense and is more organized.

I agree with this line of thinking in all scenarios.

DTS isn't chasing RASE...the match up is inevitable.
Being truthful, RASE's mystique took a hit after this weekend and I'm not saying that for u to defend just saying that from a non affiliates point of view, so everyone outside of RASE is just ready to see them against the top opponents so their performance can be judged and depending the outcome...the critics can possibly have their "I told ya so's"...

I think the mystique was never there. The top teams have always thought they could beat RASE. Last time RASE saw spirit they were on a roll and thought they could match RASE and it didn't work out that way. I am sure this weekend LFS thought they would take down RASE and again it didn't work out that way. Now there is the difficulty of being at the top. Everybody thinks they can take you down. They all come in pumped up to play. Every game you must show up to perform. There can't be an off game, or this or that excuse. You have to find a way to win. It's not the 10+ goals that seperate RASE and the other top teams. It's the ability to always show up and get it done. Spirit, DTS, LFS, dalglish are all great teams and have each had some nice runs but all at one point or another invariably slip.

Everyone keeps saying a year away as if RASE has not been playing soccer. RASE worked just as hard as everyone else. A year away taught them how to lose, how to dig in and fight from behind. How to play under more pressure and speed, How to defend under the relentless assault of a superior opponent. It's taugh the big girls how to play when you aren't the biggest or the fast girls how to play when you aren't the fastest. RASE has spent the last year trading wins and trophies for hard work and development. Last weekend showed they were never under pressure of actually losing a game. But I hope every 04 team that thinks they have the game to bring it (at some point RASE has to take a loss) but please actually bring a game and try to win not just hide in your hole and try to minimize a loss. Thats my biggest fear is a year of playing games of standing in the opponent half fighting thru 10 defenders all year. The girls will get nothing from that. LFS black didn't win but they came out fight and not just sit back and hand the game to RASE. I just hope everyone else will too

A year away from a possible invariable slip. But my opinion is neither here nor there but would just like to assure you and the gang that good soccer is yet to come and there is a team that will play you straight up and may the best group prevail. "Can't wait..."

According to the FBR, RASE is no longer the top team they once were. TX SPIRIT is the top team and RASE is looking up at them. Maybe when they play, RASE can beat them, maybe not, but FBR says the best bet is TX SPIRIT. The focus for the other teams is now on taking down TX Spirit and not RASE. Time will tell if RASE is what they once were against the girls, but last weekends scores say, "maybe not".

They have to earn their top spot back and don't get it by default. SEE FBR.

But the reality is LFS Black didn't come out and fight. They crossed the midline just once or twice in the first period. The RASE keeper didn't touch the ball even once.
In the second half LFS gave it a shot but, apart from a couple of attacks, it was more of the same.
This is why RASE has been playing against boys these past 2 years. From what I've seen, the boys coaches will try and bring it. Not sure how a whole year spent trying to get though a wall every weekend is going to help the RASE girls.
