I was told that all of the bylaws passed. Most were correcting typos.

I was surprised to hear there was not more disagreement from the Presidents about the Guest Player proposal. I don't have an opinion, but I figured they would.

Soo, was it or when will it be determined if players can play up? mostly for like 05 and 06 players.. can an 07 play up with an 06 team qualifying? can a 06 playup with 05 qualifying?

So if I understand the new guest play rule, you must have coach approval to guest play during "Open Practice" period. NTSSA can no longer approve guest play in June (now May too) without coach approval.

Any conversation on "Open Practice" starting in May?

Rule Change
"After  completion  of  State  Cup  competition  for  their  age  group  or  completion  of  league  play  for  their team,  whichever  is  last  (the  end  of  the  soccer-playing  year  for  competitive  players),  players  may  practice  with  other teams without any required release or other permission, although formal tryouts may not be held until July 1."

07 will be U10 in Fall 2016 and U10's are not allowed to play U11 select in NTSSA (they may in US Club)

The only thing that would keep an 06 from qualifying with an 05 team is that coach going with another player. An 06 could sign with an 04 team if they wanted this summer.

NTSSA did not change the rules on playing up. A U10 player ('07 this year) cannot play up on a competitive U11 team. All other age groups are allowed to play up.

Why would NTX change that particular rule and make it so ridiculous?  While most coaches are fair, there are plenty of coaches who refuse to sign guest releases simply out of spite as opposed to any legitimate soccer reason, particularly after their player gives notice that they are leaving.  That would be a totally stupid rule change of no benefit to anyone.

They are not really changing it. It's always been the coaches job but in June North Texas would sign if coach refused ONLY if the team was not scheduled to play in a tournament that weekend. Coaches got wise and sign up their teams for June tournaments. So in essence North Texas are saying don't come to us with your problems! Wink

So the question of the year for the 05s is...

"What is my club going to do with our bye?"

And from what I read.. newly formed 05 teams will be qualifying for only vacated spots in LH... which is usually from the bottom.

Im just left scratching my head on this one....
