Re: North Texas Meeting
"What is my club going to do with our bye?"
And from what I read.. newly formed 05 teams will be qualifying for only vacated spots in LH... which is usually from the bottom.
Im just left scratching my head on this one....

Pretty brilliant on the part of LHGCL.

It looks like 06's can't play with 05's (new LHGCL rule) and 07's can't play with 06's (longstanding NTSSA rule)

Re: North Texas Meeting
Any team with one 2005 birthday player would be an 05 squad.
Barring something specific, any select-age player (2006 birthdays & older) should still be able to play up to an older group...

Re: North Texas Meeting
1) Does it stay the same, i.e. end of year U11 Div I bye becomes a U12 Div I if you take Option A or a U13 Div I if you take Option B.
Or
2) Does it move up or down, i.e. end of year U11 Div I bye becomes a U12 Div I if you take Option A or a U13 Div II if you take Option B.
Depending on numbers for each age group, I don't see the league getting back to 3 Divisions as originally planned. Some age groups might have more than30 teams in them.

This is correct. Once a player crosses from academy age to select age, they are allowed to play up.Deuce wrote:The post only says 06 TEAMS can't play U12 next year. Did I miss anything where they address individual players playing up?

LHGCL is saying a new U-11 age TEAM cannot qualify for U12 or higher. They must enter the league as U11. This has been a long-standing rule.

So a team of two 05's and fourteen 06's can play in 05 division?

If you read the current rule and the new statement without reading anything extra in, it seems pretty apparent. Of course we won't know 100% until the new rules are posted.

Why would an 06 team want to do that though? Why not just go through 06 qt age pure? Even if a club has an 05 bye they want to give to a 06 heavy group, doesn't LH still have the right to review the roster and move them down a division? Are many teams going to claim an 05 bye? Would think most will be 04 byes but guess it depends on the club.

Re: North Texas Meeting
Option A. - Advance your bye naturally.
(Ex. U11 team advances to U12). If this choice is made, your team would be classified by your youngest player. For example, a current 05 team roster which may contain 04 players can only register players containing 05 birth year and younger players. However it is important to note, your current 04 players would not be eligible for this roster/age group.

That's what I am screaming.
"Small Sided Games and 06 teams:
Incoming 06 teams may only have 06 players rostered to their team at U11. They will also be playing 9v9 for the QT and Fall/Spring Season. No 06 teams may enter the QT as U12s. 06 teams MUST enter the league through the U11 QT."
06s will be U11 so they have to qualify.
