bigballer is right... a couple of group winners will not get D1 because they didn’t get enough points. All teams need to try to win every game and not settle for ties even if a tie would still win the group.

The javelin comment had me rolling as well! I believe there is a kicking over a trash can episode somewhere along the way.

He gets enough complaints and has fairly high team turnover.

But he coaches good soccer. I hate to admit it, but it's true. His teams have always become strong. He grows them well.

Are you sure you don’t mean he takes good teams and credit of what others develop? I know he has done many coaches and players wrong in the past. Even the Martinez groups. That coach built his groups and suddenly there are issues where he needs to be removed out of no where.

He and his little sidekick, what’s his name? He’s a good coach.

What about the incident where he held the 3v3 tournament and his team dad choked out an opposing dad on the other team that beat them. Tent flying, cops called and nothing happened. My daughters last time to ever play in the league after all that.

Tallal is a weak spineless bully that only know how to berate 09 girls. I’m sure he feels like a really big man. After what I observed and heard him telling the girls on “his” team, there is no way that dude will ever come near my kids. I’m all for passion, but verbal abuse is not acceptable. He’s definitely not a coach. I’m surprised FCD doesn’t view his behavior as a significantly liability and legal risk.

Was there any previous indication it could go through next weekend in the rules or states at the manager meeting? I am finding this extremely unfair for the teams still trying out if not.

Not a team manager, so I can’t speak to that. What I do know is that plenty of folks deferred vacation until after week two, having blocked out the weeks leading up for prep, conditioning and the like. This is probably going to lead to distorted results as several teams will not be able to field their top lineup. Let’s hope the games tomorrow will not be impacted by whatever rain remains in the forecast.

It’s frustrating, but nobody can control the weather. All the teams, players and parents just have to be resilient. Complete Murphy’s Law that it would be dry all week and then of course start raining early Saturday morning. If I were on the board, I would seriously consider additional contingency planning for future qualifying tourneys. At TUT, we saw the artificial turf fields at FCD’s complex. We’ve seen them at tourneys in Houston and Colorado. Would be great to use those kinds of fields when our nice grass fields are too wet.

Do you really think the fields weren’t playable all day after what amounts to light rain? If that were the case, I struggle to understand how other parts of the country could ever bring any season to a conclusion. I can’t count the weekends in junior classic league where we spent afternoons bemoaning the beautiful soccer weather after the obligatory UTD cancellation after the lightest of rain. As you rightfully indicated, the lack of putting forth any contingency planning is what is appalling.

Agree, it’s lack of contingency planning that is just so frustrating. While no one can control Mother Nature they can have plans in place for when the weather doesn’t cooperate. Looking at the forecast before they released the second round of schedules and they would have seen that rain was a possibility Sat and Sun.

Here are top 6 points finishers,
1. Renegades
2. DT Moreno
3. DFeeter Nazier
4. Ft. Worth FC
5. FCD Central
6. Solar Megli

Then eliminate all 4th place finishers and the remaining will be D2 imo.

Seems logical that consistent results achieved over the course of a year may be more indicative of a team’s performance than a single weekend.

A decision needed to be made and it was going to be impossible to please everybody. I still cannot believe DT White (formerly known as Salsa Scarfone) will be playing D2. Congratulations to all teams that qualified!

Some of the top 6 finishers avoided playing tougher competition the whole year. From Jr classic league, to tournaments, to other leagues. There are some teams that didn't hide and played tougher competition. Whatever happens doesn't seem right.

I agree. The seeding decisions in round 1 didn’t all make great sense, especially considering TUT results. All the brackets were not seeded equally, most people recognized that. So, you cannot simply choose the divisions based on first round points. Look at real game results, including TUT from only one week before. That’s how you can determine which teams will be legitimately competitive in division 1.

And, all that is to say, it’s complete chicken S to not play round 2 games. Wow. Chicken S.

Wow, D'Feeters Naizer and Tallal were both in bracket H for weekend 2. Solar Megli and Ft. Worth FC were both in bracket E. Mathematically, two of the teams given byes would not have made D1 if the weekend 2 games played out. Interesting decision given such.

Which is why the second weekend brackets never made sense! Guess it all doesn't matter now!

Which teams are you referring to? So you have literally looked up every teams game history and have looked at who they have played?
