Which teams are you referring to? So you have literally looked up every teams game history and have looked at who they have played?

Kickball- I agree. I did not think the week 2 brackets were correct either...but they were what they were. This decision does seem to contradict how Lake Highlands came up with the brackets. Clearly they did not think 2 of those 4 teams were D1 material or else they would have seeded it differently to start.

I second that. While I also agree that this entire process has been messy to say the least, the seeding decision was made less than a week ago. With no additional games played and no new facts to contemplate, why change your mind?

Sorry to keep venting here but the notion of this intense year of leading up to the tournament and earn or lose your victory on the field is part of the life lesson that I am trying to teach my kiddo with competitive sports.

I am more than ok helping my kid manage through the disappointment of a difficult loss on the field or cheer for the rewards of hard work and dedication.

Whatever the outcome today - it taints everything that hundreds of girls and their parents have been working towards. If we wanted for winners and losers to be chosen by our mighty overlords, we could have just entered a popularity contest.

Through their (in)actions, the Board of Trustees have completely undermined the real purpose of competition. Yes we don’t control the weather, but we can at least put forth a credible effort to address what everyone could see coming on the forecast a week ago.

You could teach your kids that you just never know what may happen in the future, so they should try their hardest each and every week and not take a weekend off, thinking they will work hard the next weekend to make up for it.

No, they are not. List out. 20 for D1 and 16 for D3.

Just math. They took the ones with the most points into D1 and the next 16 (do not know how they came up with that number) into D2 (formerly D3).

They saved some $4600 in referee fees.

Simple... Top 6 2nd place finishers went to D1. Remaining 5 2nd place + all 11 3rd place finishers go to D2. Seems reasonably fair given 2nd weekend was rained out.

Instead of bottom 4 in U11 league standings having to go back to QT, it’ll probably be the bottom 10 that’ll have to go back to QT for U12.

Note they now call the second division Division 2 and not Division 3.

That’s because they have done away with Division III In the u12 division. Next year, provided we don’t have another rain situation, there will only be two divisions, each with 15 teams.

When you say next year do you mean 2020/2021 season for 09 age group? If so, I don’t see why Lake Highlands would do that for 2020/2021 season. I can somewhat see why they did it for the upcoming season at U12 and older but if they have it like this for the years to come (2 divisions of 15) then that would result in reduced games played more than likely (14 vs 19/18) while still paying the same league fees

Maybe they are counting on rain problems so they figure at least we will get in 14 games over 8-9 months.

If UTD remains the primary field choice, then rain problems are going to be frequent...
