04 Girls - Week 4 Standings & Rankings

DISCLAIMER: Our lawyers (I'm serious about that) have required us to make the following statement. These rankings are for FUN and should not be assumed to be accurate (in fact they probably aren't). The rankings are based on very limited data and we keep them only for the parents on this board to get into some lively discussions and have the chance to brag shamelessly about their own team (But we are not recommending that as it makes you look foolish). Keep in mind that there are a large number of 04 teams in the metroplex and chosing your 7 or 8 year old's team based on the rankings of a few outspoken and biased parents or coaches and a limited software program would be, well, silly. Also, please be advised that any poster who gets too ugly will be subjected to group shaming and their team will be assessed with multiple 0-10 losses in the ranking system.


And now back to regular programming:
Week 2 of this and just as a refresher, No system is Perfect and again this is just a starting point, but here you go.

1st the Pieces to the Puzzle:
- Games Played (GP)
- League Factor (LF)(10 - Average Ranking based on previous poll) (Higher the # the better here)
- Preseason Parents Poll Ranking (PPPR) (1 thru whatever the highest # is) (note per the formula this is only 10% of the score. Maybe at the end of the season we will do a end of season poll (if I don't fire myself by that time) and add that to the formula)
- Season Points (SP) 6 points for Win, 3 points for Tie, 1 pt for every goal up to 3, and 1 extra point if you get a Shutout (10 is max)
- The Fun Math, I am not sold this is the math we will use long term, I am reviewing a few FBR/Power Ranking spreadsheets I got, but it is a start
(((LF * SP) / GP)*0.9)+((57-PPPR)*0.1)

I will post an overall Power Rankings in the same thread different Post so here you go!

Updated with final scores and points for Week 4 and also I modified the League ranking for SDL 04, I left them in the same pool as they do play cross division, but changed the Points assigned to SDL - D3 to reflect the compeition. I came up with the number by taking the average between PT gold and PT silver, SDL 03 and SDL 04, and PT 03 vs PT04 and subtracted that from SDL 04's League Factor which gave us a new lower # for SDL 04 D3 (which by the way came out lower than PT Silver. So there you go!

Here is all divisions, one thing I am starting to see is the Quality of Win isn't really factoring in, need to go back to the drawing board on my equation and revisit how to best incorporate that. Although over time, I think it would play out such that it normalized to reality...

Here are SDL divisions just trying to give you more work this will also change some of the rankings ..IMO SDL D3 is probably a little weaker than PT silver

Dallas Juventus Gold
Liverpool Hyypia '05
FC Xtreme Alvarez

By far the best three teams in D3 (in no order) and should be playing up in Division. To bad SDL is not doing anything about it.

Why not send up a round robin scrimmage with these 3 teams and the top 3 primetime west teams and let the players settle it on the field? It should be interesting to see the results. My money would be on Fever and LP Barnes then probably Juventus.

FINAL STANDING for WEEK 4 POSTED, Note I updated the League Factor for SDL D3 see note at top for explanation!

Just a few thoughts as we approach the mid point of the season:
- Painfully obvious that DTN Deleon is in the wrong division, should have played EAL 04 or SDL 03
- Hyypia 05 is also in the wrong division, yet to be scored on and scored a total of 26 counted goals
- EAL 04, PTCL 04 Gold and SDL 03 appears to have the strongest grouping of 04 teams, question is will these coaches all come together and start an invitational league at PT playing out of the Sting Complex in Richardson or will PYL jump into the picture and bring all these teams together?

A lot more observations that could be made, but I gotta get back to work!

so let me get this straight your saying dalglish and rase elite are two seperate teams and do not share players at all? I have seen the texans and solar do this aswell, the only club out of the big four I have not seen do this with my own eyes is Sting.

They do not share one player. They play in different uniforms now, totally separate.

Hey another great idea would be having all of these egotistical coaches like LW, TD, JK, DD, & AD. Put there egos aside and all play in the same league. Hmmmmm no that's impossible, Nevermind..... Just keep wasting your time on this stupid ranking system you came up with. At the end of the day come u11 we will find out who's best. My guess is it won't be your beloved lp team or teams.

like I said before, I have no dog in this fight. I have an 05 that I won't subject to this type of environment. She is better off in rec where the crazy parents are at a minimum. These are just my opinions based on games that I have seen.



By the way those are the coaches for the top 5 teams so figure it out using your formula. Oh and here is a hint there not all liverpool teams.

Beardsley became Dalglish and Dalglish became RASE. You are more than entitled to say whatever you think about rankings, but your statement about sharing players is simply wrong. They are distinct teams and rosters-no sharing at all.

We see a lot of rec parents on here that know so much about both 04 and 05 Academy teams. Thanks for joining the growing number of overly informed rec parents.

When your DD is ready that lucky coach that gets you as a parent will be beside theirself with joy I am sure!

PS- you tried to stir the pot on the 05 forum as well with claims that HYYPIA shares players with carragher 05 and that too is false.

When was the last time that beardsley beat a top 5 or 6 team. Last I saw them they were losing to the solar kenningtons, and Texans north. What's changed since then? That's why I have a problem with this ranking system being used or maybe its the person on the other end entering all of the data that's the problem. Who made the league power rankings? How far are you going back for tourny results? Why are teams getting more power rankings points for playing 03 silver and SDL 03 d3, that's a farce. Let's just be real. Here are my top six.





1. Rase Elite
2. DT North Rosales
3. Solar kennington
4. DT Doyle
5. DT North Deleon
6. Fever united red

This guy has 3 lp teams in the top six. That's ludacris folks. There might be three in the top 15. Just my opinion having seen all of these teams play.
