That's the grey area that I don't have an answer too.
IMHO I think they will be announcing something like this
In 2017 all U9-U12 soccer will 9v9 and be age pure
The 06 age group will have August-Dec 05's and 06 Birthyears so plan accordingly in 2016 to summer of 2017 which leaves the 07's age pure and the rest of the years below them to do the same.
Think about if you push up the 05's now which then knocks onto to the 04's and so on
It's the only way that makes sort of sense but it will be huge pool of "06" players to deal with

Nah... Not 48 hours.

Now we wait for USSF to actually decide something.

Feels like they're pushing up against being too late for 06s to go age pure.

More likely 07s, or they implement for 10s so everyone knows from the get-go what's what.

It's a year and 2 months before the 06s go select. Anything can and may be announced this summer. That WI give Mr. Triumph time to actually begin planning. I hear other coaches have already begun. Smart move if you ask me.

For any who might have attended the North Texas AGM this weekend - has there been resolution to the 9v9 & birth year rule change proposals? Will this impact the 06's? If so, when?

So what did your hear Coachdom?

I still hear that the recommendation out of that meeting is 9v9 starting fall 2016 and calendar year for fall 2017, which would impact the current 07s.

Is all of that completely false Coachdom?

No because it's more about development for the players. I will keep them on the same path as I did with the 03's and play 11v11 in the spring 2016. I'm not a fan of 11v11 at U11 but that's what the 06's will play unless North Texas demands the leagues play 9v9 and I don't see that happening

I'm not negative at all! I'm just telling you that's what will happen. I'm happy you think I have such pull in the North Texas soccer world that my vote would sway them to play 9v9 at U11. I want it to happen it's just a lot of cost for the leagues to change and those are the customers of North Texas so nothing will change until it really has to. Again my source said summer 2017 which is 07's year for select. That gives everyone 2 years to get there act together.
