If the 05's qualified this year

With all of the analysis that's going on breaking down matchups in the 04 group, I wondered what it would look like for the 05 group.  Using the current BW FBR, I put together a a hypothetical look of what the brackets may look like.  There were only 2-3 club conflicts that required moving a team up or down a spot, but this may be pretty close to what we are looking at next year.  What matchups do you guys think would be interesting?

04 QT fever is contagious - never too early to debate and wonder. Top 5 will pretty much stay the same but 6-20 will change for sure.

Why put top teams in brackets with lower rank teams?  For instance, Solar Abbott would slaughter those other teams in their bracket.

Solar vs Wann would be a very good game. There are alot of good match ups in alot of these brackets.

Correct. Seeds 1-13 get 1st seed in brackets A thru M assuming 52 teams sign up. Next seeds 14-26 are reverse order brackets M thru A. Then seeds 27-39 go into brackets A thru M so when your all done Bracket A has seeds 1, 26, 27 and 52 and Bracket M would have 13, 14, 39 and 40

Does anyone else find it disturbing that when referring to 9 year old girls soccer someone would say that one team would "slaughter" another?  I realize this is competitive soccer and most of these girls are serious about competing but they are still kids.  Be a little more respectful.  These aren't paid professional athletes.  Also, let's remember that a LOT will change in the next year and we can't predict what will happen next year by what happened last year.  Coaches are changing and players are changing and many teams will look a lot different next year.

Someone is being a little sensitive in their first post on the forums. First off, welcome. Second, lighten up. A lopsided victory is the only way to interpret the word "slaughter" in this context.

And thanks for posting Lakedad. It's early but it's interesting. This year will go by quickly.

Top 7-8 teams should not have an issue beating any of the teams in their bracket. Wann would not want to (by some miracle) beat Solar and up in D1 just to get their butts kicked every game.

Lol Anarchy! Touché. Look...I agree there are definitely a handful of teams clearly in a class of their own compared to the rest. Just sayin things are changing with some teams. Hopefully there will be some surprises.

No way there will be 2 "New" top ten teams. Just ask Johnny Soccer. It is a lot harder then even he thought it would be to throw a new team together in the final year. Order will change month to month but top 10-15 will all probably stay fairly intact minus a team or two that might blow up, move clubs, change coaches etc...

Trying to form a brand new team within a month or two is difficult; but, it's not unheard of. Sting East 01 Gutierrez formed weeks before qualifying and made it into the D1. I would bet that we see at least one team not in the FBR today making it next year. Whether that's started from a current core group moving to another team/coach or a club looking to pool a group of players under a new coach is debatable. Point is, there are going to be a couple new faces in D1 next year. In Johnny Starks case, the core is solid and they will be a top 5 talent. Question is, will they gel enough this year before players and parents get nervous and start jumping ship as was the case with Gutierrez.

I imagine Dallas Texans will try and add another top 10-20 team before qualifying next summer (DT South is the only competitive they have at this time). I don't think they could pull off another Johnny Soccer type of build right before select, so they better get cracking.

Just take a look at the old FBR from a year ago in the 04's and what it was last week. There's quite a bit of change.

Liverpool Owen was hanging out at 14th, now they 6th.
Odyssey was 20th and now they are 9th.
Sting East was 18th and now they are 7th.

Quite honestly your ride is just beginning, make sure you have a coach that has navigated these waters before, otherwise it can make for a very bumpy ride.

The Texans South Red team is pretty good... Def. Up and coming!
